Successfully combining practice and education
Again and again, SKIDATA employees decide to start studying while they work. Our proximity to the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is one major advantage of our location in Grödig near Salzburg. Thanks to the short distance and flexible working options, it is easy to combine continuing education with work. Numerous graduates proudly completed their studies this year.
Our cooperation with Austrian educational institutions also includes student visits to the SKIDATA headquarters; presentations and practical lectures by our staff at schools and universities; participation in various career events; internship opportunities; and the possibility for students to write their final paper or thesis at a company. SKIDATA´s Research & Development department promotes varied cooperations and development projects, for example with the Linz Center of Mechatronics, the University of Klagenfurt, the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the University of Salzburg´s Z-GIS (Department of Geoinformatics).
Bachelor´s thesis for IT & systems management at the University of Applied Sciences
While looking for an exciting thesis topic for his studies at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Thomas struck gold at SKIDATA. He focused his project on expanding the existing IT monitoring system by building services and environmental parameters. The goal was to increase the availability of IT components. As part of his internship in IT infrastructure at SKIDATA, he further developed his idea independently and could always rely on his colleagues“ expertise when needed: „Working in the IT team was really fun. I could take an independent approach to solving tasks, and my co-workers were always available to help when I had questions.“
